Lean Legs FAST! Here's how!

Over the coming few weeks I will be sharing a Total New You - body series to help you shape up fast! 

Today we will be starting with legs! 


With summer fast approaching I'm having a lot of women come to me asking - "how do I get my legs ready for Summer'?! We want to feel and look our best in skirts and shorts this year and rock them with confidence. 

I'm here to share my top tips for  a killer set of pins this Summer fast! 

1.Start lifting weights! Compound Exercises to be precise! 

Compound lifts such as deadlifts, squats, lunges and other exercises that utilise multiple muscle g groups is really what gets you results. These rev up the metabolism,getyour burning excess body fat, helps you get stronger and leaner.

2. Interval training

Start incorporating some intervals into your training weeks. Don't be fooled into thinking that more cardio or more classes are what gets results. Your body adapts to what you're doing so you need to shake it up! One way to keep the body guessing is by doing intervals! You can utilise any cardio piece of equipment to do this - I recommend 2-3 15 minute sessions per week! Try 5 min warm up and the 8 x 30secs hard out work and  60sec rest

3. Try cutting out inflammatory foods just for 2 weeks! 

We're talking things like sugar, dairy, caffeine and grains - these can lead to fluid retention. As women we often store fluid in the tummy, hips and things. Removing these for  a couple of weeks and it's easy to see considerable change in our bodies! You will be amazed at the changes you would see in just a few days -  give it a try and let me know how you go! 

4. Eat organic fruit and vegetables! 

So much of the food that we eat is laden in toxins and pesticides. Our body does absorb these and the excess toxins affect the way we store body fat. Particularly in our legs. 5. Leading on from above- incorporate a green smoothie per day! 

My fave recipe:

NYFIT Kickstart

  • 1tbsp Chlorophyll
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1 handfull spinach
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 1/2 an apple  or kiwi fruit
  • mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup cooled  green tea
  • 1 handfull kale
  • Ice 

Put all in a blender and mix to desired consistency - easy and yum! 

6. Stop dieting and eat nutritionally balanced meals! 

Even if you had the best exercise plan in the world, if you aren't eating well then you still won't get those lean toned legs. Stop dieting and start eating a balanced, nutrition plan. Once I learnt to be  consistent and eat wholesomely is when I  get and kept my results! Get off the dieting wheel and get consistent results! 

Top tips:

Eat a source of good fats at each meal - think - avocado, olive oil, nuts etc..

Protein source at each meal

Avoid sugar and simple carbs

Don't skip meals and never let yourself get too hungry!!
